In this article you'll learn:

  • How to hide a Topic so it no longer appears in your results
  • How to unhide a previously hidden Topic
  • How to review what Topics have been hidden

As part of our efforts to give you more power over how you can use the Player XP dashboard, we've recently introduced a new feature that allows you to hide specific Topics across the dashboard. Through this feature, you'll be able to hide any Topic that is displayed within the Dynamic Report or any custom Topic that appears in any of your search results through the Topic Finder feature.

How to Hide a Topic

As with all of the areas of the platform we work on, we've aimed to make it very simple to hide a Topic inside the dashboard. The first thing you'll need to do is navigate into a specific Topic that you would like to hide.

Once inside a Topic, you'll see the Topic Action button in the top right-hand side of the page (as seen in the image below).

If you click on the Topic Action button, you'll see the following dropdown menu appear. Simply click the item labelled 'Hide Topic'.

A warning prompt will then appear asking for confirmation before setting the Topic to hidden.

A note on what happens when you do hide the Topic. When hidden, the Topic is then removed from all Topic lists and word clouds. Unlike the 'Remove Topic' feature, data from the Hidden Topic will remain inside any sentiment and activity aggregations taking place. The Topic will also still appear within any Topic Finder searches.

Reviewing Your Hidden Topics

You can review what Topics have been hidden for a specific game, either by yourself or by one of your colleagues, by visiting the Community Hub page. Once on the page, look for the Dashboard Customisation icon in the Hub sidebar. Clicking on this icon should give you this view...

From here, you will see a list of all of your hidden Topics.

Unhiding a Topic

To unhide a hidden Topic navigate to the Hub page as shown above. Then simply click on the Bin icon (as seen below) to unhide any Topic.
